The area witness fierce battles between the Vietnamese army and the French army before the French' fall at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. The town is peaceful and security is just very good. There's not much traffic which helps walking about town a relaxing experience. Don't miss the riverfront where you may like to have cool beer.
