There are many shops in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap selling a wide range of shopping items ranging from traditional Khmer handicrafts to high quality arts and exquisite antiques. The Central Market, Tuol Tom Pong Market and the Old Market are among the best places for shopping. It's expected to haggle when shopping in Cambodia, but the Khmers are very reasonable when pricing, so don't haggle too hard.
Silk and textiles in Cambodia are still much hand-woven and dyed, most of which use natural materials and fine in quality. They are the most preferred among the travellers in Cambodia.
Cambodia is also renowned for its intricate scultures, the best samples can be found when you explore the Temples of Angkor at Siem Reap and the National Museum in Phnom Penh. The most popular scultures are Hindu deities carved out of stone. Some are antiques and it's not recommended to buy these items.
Besides woodcarving products, silver wares and paintings are also populor for the visitors in Cambodia. When shopping the high quality products, it's not uncommon that you don't get the expected quality, so it's important that all shopping items are carefully examined before paid.
