One of the biggest challenges anyone looking to visit any single country is finding enough spots to visit or things to do. These terraces are purely man-made but the way they undulate against the mountains has quite a natural feel to it. These terraces look like a stairway to the stars as ancient Vietnamese tribes cut through the faces of mountains to create flat surfaces for raising rice. If you want to see how humans can produce natural-looking structures that complement nearby terrain, you can't get any better examples than the Sa Pa Terraces. They are a must for any decent Vietnam tour packages. Located to the far northwest of Vietnam, these terraces are well-worth the trip to the Chinese border because of their sheer beauty.
